As with many discoveries, CROCU happened somewhat by accident. Recovering her voice after a traumatic injury, internationally-acclaimed classical singer and voice trainer Shyla Nelson Stewart worked with the world’s leading operatic coaches at the MET, New York City Opera, Washington National Opera, and La Scala, plumbing the depths of body physics to rebuild her voice from the ground up. Experimenting with holistic body practices and ancient meditation traditions, she one day discovered the power of the core as the anchor of strength for the human voice.
As she began teaching the technique to her own clients around the world, they began reporting life-changing breakthroughs: new emotional freedom, significantly increased clarity of thought and effective decision-making, improved professional and financial wellbeing, greater physical energy, and boosts in overall happiness and sense of purpose in their lives. She sought out whatever information she could to explain this phenomenon, and discovered the vast, emerging body of medical research about the gut and the impact of its health on our overall wellbeing...and connected the dots.
She has distilled her years of training and coaching into a simple but powerful step-by-step daily practice which takes just 3 minutes per day. The daily practice, called CROCU, activates the body’s core, creating a higher baseline of physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual energy.
With the daily CROCU practice as the foundation, Shyla and her team have developed seven new ebooks, quick guides to stretching and strengthening exercises designed to deepen one’s experience of the practice and its application directly to one’s daily life.
